Lisa Burton is an award-winning photographic artist based in Castine, Maine. Working exclusively with digital technology, her subjects often include local scenes of Maine.
Her exhibits include the shows Our World at the Trinitarian Congregational Parish (TCP) in December 2004, Through My Eyes shown at the Trinity Church in February 2006 and TCP in May 2006 and Monhegan Memories, shown at TCP in October 2007. Lisa’s exhibits in 2008 included, Sanibel Shells and Shorebirds shown at TCP in July and August and Monhegan Memories shown at Husson University in October. Participating in the Maine Professional Photographers Association print competition in 2009, Lisa’s images were awarded 1 Blue and 7 Red ribbons by a visiting panel of professional photographers from throughout the nation who have achieved the Master Photographer designation. In 2010 Blue Hill Memorial Hospital displayed Lisa’s show Seal Sightings which is now on display and is available for viewing at Castine Community Health Services in Castine, Maine. Additionally, Lisa also enjoys participating in the Castine Arts Association’s Annual Exhibits.
Her work is also featured locally at Maine Maritime Academy’s bookstore in Castine and Seagull Cottage in Warren, Maine and is often published in area publications including the Castine Patriot and Maine Maritime Academy's Mariner Magazine.
Lisa received her B.S. from University of Maine at Farmington. Currently she is a member of the Maine Professional Photographers Association and owns and operates her graphic design and desktop publishing business, Mainely Solutions, from her home in Castine.
